Durable Counterfeit-Proof Cards
Security is one of the key focal points of recent developments in high-quality passes, ID cards, drivers' licenses and other cards for sensitive functions such as workplace entry. Security covers the aspects of stored data, unique personal identification and protection against counterfeiting. The properties of the polycarbonate film Makrofol® ID satisfy all key requirements. Laser engraving can be used to provide high-contrast tactile or non-tactile personalization, for example with photos and signatures.
The personalized photo is created inside the card and cannot be modified without damaging it. Unlike other materials, the individual Makrofol® ID film layers can be laminated without using an adhesive when making the cards. The resultant card can thus virtually be regarded as a single piece of polycarbonate. This means that the film cannot be separated without damaging the material, which also helps prevent counterfeiting.

Identification Cards Construction
The integrity of information on ID cards, passports, and identification documents made of paper, plastic, or metal can be significantly improved when fabricated as multilayer structures, laminated with Dureflex® film.
