Bayer MaterialScience's extensive portfolio of film products can add unique attributes to high-tech products and components for a variety of security applications. Dureflex® brand film is highly effective in a wide and growing range of security applications due its advantages as a robust, clear and flexible interlayer. It can be formulated and processed for applications as varied as bullet resistant glazings to tamper resistant components in the construction of security and electronic products. In these critical applications, the TPU film offers much needed protect to information and personnel.
Body Armor
The integrity of bullet resistant body armor may be enhanced when constructed with Dureflex® film. Encapsulation in polyurethane film may slow the degradation of selected components due to the adverse effects of perspiration and precipitation.
Radio Frequency Identification
Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technologies can be made more robust, increasing functionality in even the most challenging environments, when encapsulated in Dureflex® polyurethane film. Dureflex® film can be used as a protective overlayer or interlayer for RFID labels applied to shipping pallets and containers or to packaging due to the particular resistant of urethane film to weathering and abrasion experienced during commercial shipping and handling.
