Hydrolytic Stability
Dureflex® brand aromatic and aliphatic polyurethane films offer excellent resistance to decomposition caused by exposure to, and reaction with, water. Polyether- and polyester-based film have specific properties that may make one better suited than the other for certain applications.
Polyether-based TPU
Dureflex® polyether-based polyurethane film products are the best choice for withstanding long-term exposure to humidity or direct contact with moisture.
Polyester-based TPU
Dureflex® polyester-based polyurethane films, while suitable for intermittent or limited exposure to water and water vapor, are not recommended for continuous or long-term exposure.
Applications include: wet suits; survival suits; pipe liners; motorcycles seats; tractor seats; gaskets; automotive door liners; kites; pontoons; kayaks; airbags; exercise mats; impact resistant transparencies; life jackets; rafts; sails; and drapes.
