Bayer MaterialScience LLC has more than three decades of polyurethane and specialty elastomer film formulation and extrusion expertise. Our name is synonymous with quality, reliability, and responsiveness.

Established in 1978, the Deerfield manufacturing facility became a wholly owned Bayer Corporation subsidiary in 1984, and then was legally consolidated to become a part of Bayer MaterialScience on January 1, 2010. As part of the Films organization, the site manufactures polyurethane, polycarbonate, and specialty films where the product portfolio features Dureflex® brand thermoplastic polyurethane and elastomer films, and Bayfol® and Makrofol® brand polycarbonate films. Customers are in an array of industries, including medical, automotive, textile, and packaging where customers reap the benefits of our tradition of building world-class innovative & engineered products. The company offers a unique combination of developmental resources, film manufacturing technologies, production capacity, material science savvy and customer orientation. Development and production advantages are augmented by the company’s joint exploration of new formulations and technologies with Epurex Films, the European-based Bayer MaterialScience TPU and TPE film subsidiary. The company is ISO 9001 registered and operates in a state of the art facility in Western Massachusetts (90 minutes West of Boston, MA and 60 minutes North of Hartford, CT).

We arrive at innovative solutions by leveraging our internal expertise and capabilities with that of Bayer MaterialScience technologists around the globe. We utilize only the highest-quality raw materials and technologies to manufacture world-renowned thermoplastic films.
