Aromatic polyesters and polyethers have certain, distinct qualities that may make one more suited for an application than the other.
Polyesters
- Effective barrier to gasses
- Resistant to petrochemicals (e.g., gasoline, diesel fuel, aviation fuel, etc.)
- Resistant to many solvents, chemicals, fats, and greases
Polyethers
- Resistant to water, high humidity, and fungus
- Excellent hydrolytic stability
- Softer and more comfortable for skin contact
